DENTON, Texas – Seniors offensive lineman Manase Mose, kicker Ethan Mooney and linebacker KD Davis headline UNT's selections for the 2022 Conference USA Preseason Watch List, the league announced Monday.
Also joining the trio are junior wide receiver Roderic Burns and sophomore defensive lineman Roderick Brown.
Mose, from Euless, Texas, has started 48 straight games for the Mean Green at guard or center and is entering his fifth season as a starter. He has twice been honored as an All-CUSA player in his career.
A native of Fort Worth, Mooney has played in 44 games and scored 223 points in his UNT career – the third most in school history by a kicker. He was an honorable mention all-conference selection in 2021.
Ennis, Texas' Davis has led the Mean Green in tackles in each of the past three seasons - the first UNT player to accomplish that feat since Zach Orr (2011-13), including 121 stops a season ago. He enters the 2022 season as a fourth-team selection to the Phil Steele Preseason All-American team looking to become the first player in program history to lead the team in tackles in four straight seasons.
Originally from Houston, Burns was selected to the Biletnikoff Award watch list entering 2022. He led UNT in all three receiving categories last season including three 100-yard games.
Brown burst on the scene as a true freshman in 2021 and played in 11 games with 20 tackles, 4.0 TFL and 3.0 sacks. He also forced a pair of fumbles and was named to the PFF and C-USA All-Freshman teams.
UNT opens fall camp on Friday, July 29. The Mean Green kickoff the season in El Paso against UTEP on August 27 at 8 pm CT. The game will be broadcast by Stadium.
