Volleyball Travels for Road Meeting Versus SFA

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Mean Green Volleyball (1-2) will travel to Stephen F. Austin (3-0) for its first road match of the season on Tuesday.
First serve is set for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+ from Robert H. Shelton Gymnasium.
North Texas collected its first win with a season-opening sweep of Jacksonville on Friday while SFA went undefeated in the opening weekend with victories over DePaul, UC Irvine and SMU.
UNT is 4-2 against the Lumberjacks since 2013, grabbing a road win in 2014.
Last Time Against SFA
The two sides most previously met in the first match of the 2020-21 season with North Texas claiming a five-set victory in Denton (25-23, 20-25, 21-25, 25-17, 15-12) on Oct. 3, 2020. Three former Mean Green players recorded double-digit kills on the evening, led by 19 from Valerie Valerian. Alumna Kaliegh Skopal provided 40 of the team's season-high 61 assists on the night. Defensively, UNT had 10 total blocks and had three players accumulate double-digit digs in the win.

Sh'Diamond Holly posted 15 kills with a .591 hit percentage and five blocks in her first match as a member of the Mean Green against Jacksonville on Friday. Junior Treyaunna Rush made her mark on Saturday with 17 kills and six blocks to record 20.5 points versus UTRGV. Ceci Harness contributed 78 assists on the weekend, adding 44 in the final match of the North Texas Invite. Libero Aleeyah Galdeira tallied double-digit digs in all three matches to push her career total (885) closer to the century mark.
