
Volleyball Make Trip to Visit No. 14 Baylor

WACO, Texas – UNT volleyball is set for a midweek meeting against No. 14 Baylor on Tuesday at 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
The Mean Green are led by opposite hitter Treyaunna Rush who is currently 11th in the country with 152 kills and 14th in points at 169.5 on the season. Middle blocker Sh'Diamond Holly stands in sixth across the NCAA with 52 total blocks, which ranks first in C-USA. Libero Aleeyah Galdeira is fifth in the nation with 204 digs and 20th with 5.10 digs per set.
No. 14 Baylor enters the match on a five-match win streak, including sweeping its home tournament over the weekend against Colorado State, Arizona State and Evansville. The Bears are led by seniors Lauren Harrison and Kara McGhee along with preseason Big 12 Freshman of the Year winner, setter Averi Carlson.
North Texas is coming off of a three-match weekend in Corvallis, Ore. at the Asics Invitational. The team suffered a hard-fought loss to Oregon St. on Friday but rebounded with a 3-1 victory in the back half of a doubleheader versus Portland. UNT finished the weekend with a loss to Portland St.
Senior libero Galdeira was named to the all-tournament team at the Asics Invitational recording 50 digs, 12 assists, three aces and a kill in the three-match set. She also collected career dig 1,000 on Friday and moved up the all-time leaderboard. Entering Tuesday's match, she needs 21 digs for sole possession of eighth place and 35 to move into seventh.
North Texas has a 12-25-1 all-time record against Baylor.
