
Volleyball Lose Doubleheader at Bobcat Invitational

BOZEMAN, Montana – UNT volleyball lost its first two matches of the Bobcat Invitational against No. 18 Washington and Boise State in a doubleheader on Friday.
North Texas (5-9) fell to the nationally ranked Huskies (6-2) in three sets, 15-25, 12-25, 14-25, in the first contest of the day.
Treyaunna Rush posted 10 kills on 20 attacks with Sh'Diamond Holly and Truli Levy collecting four finishes each. Ceci Harness nabbed 10 assists with Aleeyah Galdeira and Alexa Washington tallying five apiece.
The Mean Green dropped the second match across four sets to the Broncos (8-2), 24-26, 27-25, 21-25, 22-25.
The team matched its season-best mark of 15 team blocks set Sept. 9 against Oregon State. Conference USA blocks leader Holly contributed eight and was matched by frontline mate, Rush. Taylor Litteken posted six, including the only solo block of the match. Aryn Johnson and Levy added three each.
The trio of Rush, Holly and Johnson all put up double-digit kills in the match, led by 19 from Rush. Her match-high total continues the streak of eight consecutive contests with at least 10 kills, including posting the figure in 11 of 14 matches this season.
Libero Galdeira also had a landmark afternoon by moving into seventh in program history for digs. She entered the second match with 1,060, only needing three to pass Shelby Tamura (1,062) for eighth and 17 to overtake Amy Henard (1,076). She tallied 17 in four sets along with six assists and a set-winning ace in the second frame.
Harness accumulated 31 assists with Washington picking up 12 helpers. The pair both posted seven digs.
