
Volleyball to Begin C-USA Play at FAU

BOCA RATON, Florida – North Texas will open its Conference USA schedule with a visit to Florida Atlantic on Friday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. CT on CUSA.tv.
The matchup with the Owls (10-2) marks the final C-USA meeting between the two programs before both schools enter the American Athletic Conference next season. This is the first match against one another since 2019 in which the Mean Green walked away with a five-set victory at FAU Arena. North Texas holds a 12-5 record against FAU.
Entering C-USA play, Sh'Diamond Holly is eighth in the nation with 68 total blocks and second in the conference. She is also 38th in the NCAA with a .387 hitting percentage on 217 attacks. Treyaunna Rush is currently ninth in kills (207) and points (231.5), boosting the Mean Green to 686 team kills which is 10th in the country. Aleeyah Galdeira has collected 251 digs placing her ninth nationally and first in the conference.
FAU are fresh off a three-set defeat to FGCU in the finale of the FGCU Invitational on Saturday. The Owls are led by sophomores Valeria Rosado and Noelle Stephens with team-leading marks of 148 kills and 392 assists, respectively. Texas native Lauryn Green anchors the net with 33 total blocks, 11 solo.
UNT finished its non-conference slate with a four-set win at Montana State in the Bobcat Invitational on Saturday. Aryn Johnson led the team with a season-high 17 kills and had a .379 hitting percentage along with seven digs, two blocks and a pair of aces.
Middle blocker Holly was named to the all-tournament team in Bozeman, Mont. after tallying 25 kills on 44 attacks for a team-high .455 attack percentage and 15 blocks across three matches.
