UNT Wraps Up Play At Schooner Fall Classic

NORMAN, Okla. - UNT graduate student Audrey Tan tied for 20th as the Mean Green finished up play at the OU Schooner Fall Classic on Monday at Belmar Golf Club, and junior Shreya Pal shot a second straight 1-over 71 to finish tied for 32nd at 2-over as the Mean Green tied for 10th with Virginia Tech.
Junior Ellie Roth led the way for the team in Monday's final round with an even-par 70.
Freshman Mason Lewis, who competed as an individual, shot a 69-69-71 to finish tied for 15th at 1-under par in just her second college event.
"We played fine in the first two rounds but looked tight in the final round," UNT head coach Michael Akers said. "It was cool being paired with Oklahoma State and Baylor in the final round. It certainly speaks volumes about our program. I'm really excited Mason broke through this event. Obviously after A&M (last week) with having no time between events, I wouldn't have any information to put Mason in the lineup but now she has proven herself and will be traveling to Tulsa. We will work hard and go to Tulsa looking to win."
UNT will get back to competition Oct. 10-11, at the Tulsa Invite in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and fans can follow the program throughout the year on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
