UNT Women’s Basketball Set for Road Contest at LA Tech
RUSTON, La. (Jan. 10, 2023) - Coming off a split last weekend in home contests against WKU and Middle Tennessee, North Texas returns to the court Wednesday night when they travel to Ruston, La., to take Louisiana Tech.
It will be the 20th all-time meeting between the two programs in a series that dates back to 1990. The Lady Techsters won each of the first 12 matchups in the series, but UNT has won four of the last seven dating back to 2018.
UNT fell 76-57 on Saturday against MTSU after earning its first C-USA win Thursday night against WKU.
LA Tech comes into the contest at 9-6 overall and 2-3 in conference play. The Lady Techsters have wins over UTSA and Rice on their resume with their conference losses coming against UTEP (twice) and Charlotte.

- Senior Quincy Noble leads UNT offensively with 18.2 points per game this season, a figure that leads Conference USA and 41st in Division I. Noble has scored in double figures in each of the last 13 games for North Texas and scored her 1,000th career point on the road at FIU.

- UNT has two of the top-10 players in C-USA in blocked shots this season in Lampkin and Aniyah Johnson. Lampkin sits second in the league with 1.7 blocks per game while Johnson is eighth at 1.0 blocks per contest.
- In total, the Mean Green rank fourth in the conference with 3.2 blocks per game as a team.
- Through 14 games this season, the rebound battle has been an indicator of success for UNT. The Mean Green are 1-9 this season when losing the team rebounding battle and are 3-0 when outrebounding their opponents.
- LA Tech heads into the matchup with the best record in C-USA at 9-6 and are 2-3 in conference play this season.
- The Lady Techsters have played a number of tight games this season as seven of their 15 games have been decided by 10 points or less.

- As a team, LA Tech is one of the top shooting teams in the league, ranking second in C-USA in field goal percentage, 3-point percentage and free throw percentage. The also lead the league in assists per game.
- LA Tech is 15-4 in the all-time series against the Mean Green.
- The Lady Techsters won each of the first 13 meetings between the two schools. UNT has narrowed the gap, however, winning four of the last seven meetings including a win in the 2018 C-USA Tournament.
