Mean Green Fall At FAU, 66-62

BOCA RATON, Florida — The North Texas men's basketball team fell 66-62 at Florida Atlantic Saturday afternoon.
UNT (14-4, 5-2) was led by Tylor Perry who scored a game-high 18 points and had a chance to give the Mean Green the lead with nine seconds remaining, but his would-be go-ahead 3-pointer clanked off the rim.
"Their resolve was better," said head coach Grant McCasland. "I thought they had a more composed look. They were grittier down the stretch."
In addition to Perry's 18, he also had a team-high seven rebounds. Sophomore Aaron Scott scored a single-game career-high 14 points. It's the fourth consecutive game he's scored in double figures.
With the win by the Owls (16-1, 6-0) they extend their winning streak to 15 in a row, which as of Saturday is the second longest in the nation. FAU entered Saturday's game ranked No. 15 in the nation in the NET.
North Texas stays on the road and faces FIU on Monday night from Miami. Tipoff is scheduled for 6 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Mean Green Sports Network.
