FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. - The UNT swimming and diving teams will wrap up a week of training before the new semester begins with a dual meet on Friday at Northern Arizona with the Lumberjacks and Colorado State.
The Mean Green are on a three-meet winning streak entering the first meet of the new semester, and head coach Brittany Roth said she is excited about the opportunity to train at elevation this week while also getting a good day of competition under her team's belts, while also enjoying some team bonding in a scenic environment that will include a team trip to the Grand Canyon.
"We're really looking forward to competing this week with NAU and Colorado State," Roth said. "Both programs will give our team strong competition as we set our sights on getting ready for The American Championship. This team has been taking on each challenge this season head on, and as we are spending this week training in Flagstaff at 7,000 feet elevation, this meet will bring our team together as we compete together on Friday. It's been a fun week so far getting to experience the winter wonderland and the beautiful landscape of Flagstaff."
UNT is coming off a fifth-place finish at the Phill Hansel Invitational - The American's midseason championships - back in November, when it was led by strong performances from Shaena McCloud, Laura Mazzotta and London Farris in the pool, while Brigid Krbec led the way in the diving events.
