DENTON, Texas – Sh'Diamond Holly recorded her first double-double at UNT as volleyball defeated Temple 3-2 on Friday at the North Texas Volleyball Center.
Holly finished with 10 kills, 11 digs and matched her season-high mark with seven blocks including four solo stops. She added two assists and a service ace to lead the Mean Green with 16.5 points.
"[Sh'Diamond] is always consistent and always does a really good job," head coach Kristee Porter said. "Not only does she help us offensively but she's a great defensive player."
Holly is the first UNT player to record four solo blocks in a match since Sarah Haeussler accomplished the feat at UT Arlington on Sept. 4, 2021.
North Texas (13-11, 7-4) finished with 14 blocks as a team, the second-highest total of the season, in the five-set victory (25-27, 25-13, 25-16, 20-25, 15-11) over the Owls (15-8, 5-6). The Mean Green have recorded 10 or more blocks in each of the past five matches.
Holly led with seven total stops while Truli Levy contributed six, including three solo blocks. Anyse Smith and Treyaunna Rush each added three.
Rush led the team with 15 kills and was trailed by Smith and Aryn Johnson with 11 each.
Ceci Harness distributed a match-high 27 assists with nine digs and one ace. After Friday's match, Harness needs six assists to reach the 2,000 mark for her collegiate career.
Aleeyah Galdeira added to her legacy with 21 digs, eight assists and one ace. She needs 68 digs to move into second on the UNT career digs leaderboard.
