
Volleyball Sweeps Charlotte

DENTON, Texas – UNT volleyball collected its third consecutive American Athletic Conference win with a 3-0 sweep of Charlotte on Sunday at the North Texas Volleyball Center.
The Mean Green (14-11, 8-4) extended its winning streak over the 49ers (9-15, 2-10) to six matches with its ninth three-set (25-22, 25-20, 25-15) victory of the season.
Anyse Smith led UNT with 14.5 points and matched her career high with six blocks. She added 11 kills and three digs. In conference matches, Smith leads the team with 134 kills and 162.5 points.
In the second set, Ceci Harness tallied her 2,000th career collegiate assist with a pass to Aryn Johnson. Harness also collected the match-winning point with a service ace. She accumulated 12 assists and eight digs in the match. Johnson shined from the service line with three aces. She added nine kills, six digs and one block.
Aleeyah Galdeira led the match with 16 digs to add to her career total of 1,735 which ranks third on the all-time Mean Green leaderboard. She needs 52 to move into second place.
UNT extended its streak of matches with double-digit blocks to six with 11 stops on Sunday. Along with Smith's six, Sh'Diamond Holly and Truli Levy added five blocks apiece. Levy currently ranks second in The American with 99 total blocks for the season.
