
Volleyball Set for Weekend Road Trip

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UNT volleyball travels for a pair of conference clashes against UAB on Friday at 7 p.m. CT and East Carolina at 11 a.m. CT on Sunday. Both matches will be streamed on ESPN+.
North Texas (9-9, 3-2) dropped a pair of home contests against Tulsa after it opened American Athletic Conference play with three-consecutive wins. Treyaunna Rush led the Mean Green with 31 kills versus the Golden Hurricane while Aleeyah Galdeira tallied 41 digs and five aces over nine sets.
UAB (2-15, 0-5) enters Friday on an 11-match losing streak and in last place in the East Division of The American while East Carolina (12-4, 3-2) sits in second place with a meeting versus Tulane set for Friday.
The Mean Green hold a 10-4 series lead against the Blazers, including a five-match road winning streak in Birmingham. In its most recent meeting, UNT defeated UAB 3-2 in the quarterfinals of the CUSA Championship on Nov. 18, 2022, for its first postseason win since 2018.
UNT swept in its only previous meeting against ECU on Sept. 27, 2013, in Denton. Both programs were members of Conference USA at the time, with North Texas in its first season in the league and East Carolina set to move to The American the following year.
