
Smith Pushes Volleyball to Road Sweep

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Anyse Smith led UNT volleyball to a 3-0 sweep at UAB on Friday at Bartow Arena. Smith notched a match-high 11 kills with a .450 hitting percentage.
The Mean Green (10-9, 4-2) extended its winning streak in Birmingham to six matches with the three-set conference victory (25-22, 25-22, 25-19) over the Blazers (2-16, 0-6).
Smith posted double-digit kills for the fourth consecutive match, the longest streak since 2021 when she closed the season with 10 in a row at McNeese. On the night, she added two blocks and two digs.
Sh'Diamond Holly tallied four blocks while Ceci Harness gathered eight digs to lead the defense. North Texas held UAB to a .065 hitting percentage, the second-lowest mark for an opponent this season.
Treyaunna Rush added to her collegiate total of 989 kills as she recorded six for the evening, including a pair during a 9-2 first set UNT run.
Libero Aleeyah Galdeira registered her first kill of the season and a pair of aces late in the first to spark a 7-0 run that pushed the Mean Green into its first lead of the frame. She added six digs and three assists.
