
Women’s Tennis Takes on Maryland, Liberty Looking to Extend Winning Streak

UNT trying for longest win streak since 2015-16
LYNCHBURG, Va. (Feb. 10, 2023) – Currently riding a five-match win streak, UNT will travel on the road for the first time in three weeks when they head to Lynchburg, Va., to take on Maryland and Liberty over the weekend on the campus of Liberty University.
The Mean Green will be looking to extend the win streak to six and potentially seven matches which would be the longest win streak for UNT since 2015-16.
UNT starts the weekend off with a Saturday morning matchup against Maryland at 8:00 AM and will close the weekend by taking on host Liberty at 8:00 AM Sunday.
Matilde Morais continues to pace UNT in singles play this season as she remains perfect at 7-0 playing exclusively at line two. She and Jasmine Adams are also the staples at line one doubles where they possess a 4-1 record overall this season.
Kexuan Zhou also remains perfect this season at 6-0 in singles play. The senior out of Changsha, China, has wins at lines four, five and six already this season.
Olivia Halvorsen and Adams also possess strong singles records this season as they both head into the weekend with 7-1 singles records with Adams playing exclusively at line one and Halvorsen competing at lines four and five.
In total, UNT will go into the weekend with an impressive 38-7 record in singles play and a 15-4 mark in doubles.
