Adams and Morais earn strong win at line one doubles
LYNCHBURG, Va. (Feb. 12, 2023) – The duo of Jasmine Adams and Matilde Morais earned another strong win at line one doubles but UNT was unable to capitalize on the win as they fell 4-0 Sunday on the road against Liberty.
The Mean Green fell at lines two and three doubles as well as lines one, five and six singles to drop to 7-3 overall this season while the Flames improved to 7-2 on the year.
Coming off a win over a ranked opponent Saturday, Adams and Morais continued their winning ways with a strong 6-3 win. The duo is now 6-1 this season and have won six consecutive doubles matchups.
At line two doubles, UNT nearly was able to pick up the doubles point as Kexuan Zhou and Olivia Malm forced a set tiebreak at 6-6. They were unable to complete the win, however, as they fell 7-3 in the tiebreaker to give the Flames a 1-0 lead.
In singles play, Olivia Malm won her first set 6-4 but did not finish her matchup at line three before Liberty reached the four points needed for the team win.
Both Morais and Zhou also remained unbeaten, as neither of their matches went the distance at lines two and four, respectively.

- The Mean Green are back in action Sunday when they return to Waranch Tennis Complex to take on USF at 11:00 AM and DBU at 4:00 PM.
- It will be Family Fun Day on the courts with a free tennis clinic starting at 9:30 AM. Additionally, there will be a bounce house, a raffle and free pizza and Lamanade for all in attendance.
