Mean Green trying to for longest home win streak since 2011-12 season
DENTON, Texas (Feb. 18, 2023) – The UNT women's tennis program will look to remain unbeaten at home this season Sunday when they welcome South Florida and Dallas Baptist to the Waranch Tennis Complex for a doubleheader at 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM CT.
UNT looks to bounce back after a pair of losses last weekend in Lynchburg, Va., against Maryland and Liberty and improve on their 7-3 overall record.
After starting the season with five consecutive wins at home, the Mean Green look to extend that streak to seven. It would be the longest home win streak since UNT won 11 straight matches in Denton in the 2011-12 season when they went on to win the Sun Belt title.
In singles play, Jasmine Adams, Olivia Malm and Matilde Morais are all tied with a team-high seven victories each this season.
Playing exclusively at line two, Morais remains perfect at 7-0 while Adams is 7-3 and Malm is 7-1.
Senior Kexuan Zhou is also unbeaten this season with a 6-0 record while playing at lines four, five and six this season.
In doubles play, the combination of Morais and Adams are 7-1 at line one. After dropping their first matchup of the season, the duo has won seven straight matchups, including a win over #53 Maryland last Saturday.
