Women’s Tennis Welcomes Arkansas State and Central Oklahoma to Denton Saturday

Mean Green looking for longest win streak since Spring 13
DENTON, Texas (Feb. 3, 2023) – Coming off three straight wins at home, UNT women's tennis returns to the Waranch Tennis Complex Saturday when they take on Arkansas State and Central Oklahoma at 11 am and 3 pm.
The Mean Green will be looking to push their win streak to five when they host a pair of strong opponents at home. UNT heads into the matchup at 5-1 overall having only dropped a total of eight matches in the first six contests of the year.
Last Saturday, the Mean Green earned a pair of 6-1 wins over Lamar and Midwestern State to improve their record to 3-0 at home thus far this season.
With two more wins Saturday, UNT will push their win streak to five which would be the longest win streak since 2013 when the Mean Green went 18-5 and won the Sun Belt Conference title.
Individually, both Matilde Morais and Kexuan Zhou continue to remain unbeaten in singles play. Morais is 5-0 playing every match at line two while Zhou is 4-0 overall and earned her first win at line five last Saturday against Midwestern State.
In total, the Mean Green are 27-6 in singles play this season as a team and hold an 11-4 record in doubles matches.
