Men's Hoops Travels To Oklahoma State For NIT Quarterfinals

STILLWATER, Oklahoma — The UNT men's basketball team is in the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament and is traveling to Oklahoma State to face the Cowboys Tuesday night in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
The No. 2 seed Mean Green (28-7) and No. 1 seed Oklahoma State (20-15) are scheduled to tipoff Tuesday from Gallagher-Iba Arena at 6 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast on ESPN, the Mean Green Sports Network and The Varsity Network app.
Tickets to Tuesday's game can only be purchased through the Oklahoma State Athletics Ticket Office.
The winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal game punches a ticket to the 2023 NIT semifinals, which is hosted in Las Vegas at the Orleans Arena on March 28. This is the first time in program history the Mean Green have reached the quarterfinal round.
North Texas defeated Sam Houston, 75-55, at home Sunday afternoon to advance to the quarterfinals. The Mean Green made a season-high 16 3-pointers in the 20-point win on the Bearkats who entered the game with the nation's No. 4 scoring defense.
Tuesday will be the 17th all-time meeting between North Texas and Oklahoma State but the first time they've met in a NCAA postseason game. UNT last played the Cowboys on Dec. 3, 2014 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
