Orozco Named Volleyball Assistant Coach

DENTON – Aminah Orozco has been named assistant coach for UNT volleyball, head coach Kristee Porter announced on Tuesday. Orozco served the last two seasons as head coach at The University of Science and Arts of Oklahoma in Chickasha, Okla. and compiled a 23-25 record.
"We are excited to have Aminah join our staff," Porter said. "We are looking forward to having her experience on our staff as we continue to grow our program and enter The American."
Orozco led USAO to its highest win totals in program history and consecutive Sooner Athletic Conference tournament appearances.
In her first season, she led the Drovers to a 14-18 record to mark a 13-win improvement from the previous season. Orozco's team also claimed the program's first berth in postseason play.
She coached four all-conference honorees and holds the USAO program record for most career wins.
Orozco also coached club volleyball in Texas, New Mexico and Oklahoma.
As a player, Orozco garnered all-conference selections at Vernon College and Saint Gregory's University. She graduated from Saint Gregory's in 2013 with her bachelor's degree in biology.
