
No. 69 Women’s Tennis Set to Play Three Matches Over the Weekend

UNT entered the ITA Top-75 earlier this week for the first time since 2015
DENTON, Texas (March 9, 2023) – After entering the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Top-75 for the first time since 2015 on Tuesday, UNT returns to action Friday morning when they put their perfect home record on the line against Tulane at 10:00 AM at the Waranch Tennis Complex before traveling to San Antonio to take on UTSA and Western Kentucky.
The Mean Green will be back in action for the first time since Feb. 26 as they look to improve to 10-4 on the season and 8-0 at home.
In the latest ITA Poll, the Mean Green found themselves ranked No. 69 overall, on of only three C-USA ranked programs along with Charlotte (No. 30) and FIU (No. 35).
The eight-match home win streak for UNT is the longest since the Mean Green rattled off 11 consecutive home wins in the 2011-12 season.
Coming into the matchup, four players for the Mean Green have amassed at least seven singles wins through the first 13 matches, including Matilde Morais who leads the team with nine wins in 10 matches this season.
Both Jasmine Adams and Olivia Malm have racked up eight wins apiece this season as Adams is 8-3 playing exclusively at line one while Malm is 8-2 playing on both lines three and four.
Additionally, Kexuan Zhou remains unbeaten this season, posting a perfect 7-0 record with wins at lines four, five and six.
In doubles play, the combination of Adams and Morais have posted an 8-2 combined record at line one.

- In singles play, Tulane has a pair of players with five wins each while four more have four wins apiece. The combination of Adelaide Lavery and Jiayun Zhu lead the doubles play with a combined record of 6-2.
- The matchup is a preview of a future American Athletic Conference matchup as UNT is set to join the AAC in the 2023-24 academic year.
- UTSA is 8-7 this season after winning just four matches last season. The Roadrunners have lost three straight matches heading into Saturday's contest with UNT.
- Aleksandra Zlatarova leads the way for UTSA with a 12-2 overall record, playing exclusively at line one singles.
