Student-Athletes Honored at 7th Annual Scrappys Awards

DENTON, Texas – North Texas Athletics hosted its seventh annual Scrappys Awards Monday night to honor its student-athletes' achievements in athletics, academics and community service during the 2022-23 school year.

The event, emceed by Hailey Sutton, was held at the Embassy Suites in Denton.

Highlights of the evening included recognition of the UNT men's basketball team winning the 2023 NIT Championship, and women's golf winning the third-straight CUSA championship.

Women's tennis was honored for their top GPAs during both the Spring and Fall of 2022.
Â
Additionally, each team along with cheer, dance and mascot had a Team MVP and Mean Green Spirit Honoree announced.
