Softball Places Two Student-Athletes on CSC Academic All-District Team

Christensen, Cobb become the first pair of UNT teammates to win the award in program history
AUSTIN, Texas – UNT softball junior duo Kalei Christensen and Lexi Cobb were honored as selections on the Academic All-District team by the College Sports Communicators (CSC), the organization announced on Tuesday.
The pair became the first set of North Texas teammates to earn all-district distinctions in program history and they are the first players to win the award since 2017.
Christensen and Cobb earned the honor after posting cumulative 3.50 grade-point averages while providing regular roles from catcher and center field, respectively.
Second team All-Conference USA selection Christensen finished with a 3.964 GPA in Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology. She hit .248 with 23 runs, five home runs and 31 RBI while leading the Mean Green pitching staff to a 2.13 ERA, third-best in team history.
Cobb maintained a 3.842 GPA in Computer Science and posted a single-season career high of 21 stolen bases which ranks second in UNT softball history. She tallied 89 putouts with a personal-best mark of a .978 fielding percentage.
North Texas ended the season with its third highest single season total with 35 wins in 2023 and finished as runners-up in the Conference USA Championship.
