Ask the AD

In May, UNT Vice President and Director of Athletics Jared Mosley asked members of the Mean Green Family to submit questions for him to answer. Below are a few selected questions with his answers.
Q: Are there plans to make some of the nicer shirts, jackets, etc., that are shown available to the fans? (@EagleOnTheRidge)
Q: Why do fans not have access to purchase apparel worn on field or by staff? Example: Nike Vest with diving eagle logo…or the polo you have on in this video. (@coach_williams2)
Q: Love what you're doing! Just wondering why we keep some of the best apparel for athletic staff only year in and year out? I know lots of fans would love access to the good stuff too (@JacobFlores11)
JM: We have made a conscious effort this year to have earlier conversations with our licensing company and multiple vendors to make sure several items worn by our staff are available to fans. That gear will be available beginning this fall. While it is not possible to make every shirt, hat, or pullover available, we are optimistic it will help with what is out there in the marketplace.
There are a few items each year that will be produced after ordering deadlines for vendors that will still only be available to staff and student-athletes. However, this is consistent with what you will see around the country.
It is also important to remember vendors ultimately make decisions on what they do or do not carry in their places of business. We have been more intentional and proactive in letting them know what our teams and coaches will wear, but they ultimately make decisions based on the volume they are required to carry and whether demand will justify adding to their inventory.
Q: Will authentic or replica football jerseys with player's name & number be available for purchase? (@TheTroyDuncan)
JM: While only a small group of football student-athletes chose to opt-in to our group licensing program, we will have an increased number of t-shirts and player related merchandise available as the opt-ins increase. As of today, vendors are not able to order blank Nike jerseys in our look and style that would be a wearable product. That can change with an increase in sales of the available products.
Have a question for @mosleyj22?
