T&F Trio Set for NCAA Outdoor Championships

DENTON, Texas – Karlington Anunagba, KeAyla Dove and Zion Hill will compete for North Texas Track & Field Wednesday through Friday at the 2023 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin, Texas.
Anunagba advanced to Nationals in the 100 meters with a time of 10.17 at the NCAA West Preliminary Rounds. The senior from Lagos, Nigeria, will compete in the semifinals Wednesday at 7:46 p.m. CT.
Dove earned her spot at Nationals with a fourth-place finish in the women's shot put at the preliminary rounds, recording a throw of 59-6.75 (18.15m). The junior from Houston, Texas, will compete for the national championship Thursday at 9:30 p.m. CT.
Hill had the seventh-best throw in the men's javelin preliminaries (231-3; 70.48m) to punch his ticket to Austin. The senior from Bridgetown, Barbados, will compete in the final Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. CT.

The three NCAA Championship qualifiers is the most non-relay participants for UNT at Nationals since 1983 when Donna Thomas (long jump), Johnny Walker (800 meters), Lynn Howe (400-meter hurdles) and the men's 4x 400-meter relay team (Lynn Howe, Doug Jackson, Richard Pace, Johnny Walker) all advanced to the big stage.
