
Volleyball Falls at Colorado

BOULDER, Colo. – UNT volleyball lost at Colorado 3-0 on Sunday in the finale of the Buffs Invitational at the CU Events Center.
"This was a great weekend filled with competitive teams," head coach Kristee Porter said. "It was nice to see our team compete for the first time this season. We had some definite highs and were also able to see areas for improvement. Overall, I was really proud of how we competed in the first tournament of the season and I'm excited to keep building."
North Texas (2-1) recorded a season-high .297 team hitting percentage in the three-set loss (18-25, 23-25, 19-25) to hosts Colorado (2-1). UNT fought back from a pair of late-set deficits in the second and third sets but were unable to take either frame.
Treyaunna Rush and Aryn Johnson led the Mean Green offense with 14 and 12 kills, respectively, while both hit at a .375 clip. Rush added two blocks while Johnson contributed two digs.
Rush and Johnson were named to the Buffs Invitational All-Tournament team after they collectively contributed 73 kills over three matches.
Coco Gillett finished with seven kills on 17 attacks for a .294 hitting percentage. She added nine digs and one assist.
Ceci Harness led the team with 21 assists and Kamryn Scroggins tallied 14 helpers. The two setters both posted seven digs in the match.
