
Volleyball Sweeps Home Opener

DENTON, Texas – UNT volleyball tallied a 3-0 sweep over Texas Southern on Tuesday at the North Texas Volleyball Center in the program's 2023 home opener. North Texas recorded a .507 attack percentage, with 44 kills on 69 attempts, for the fifth-best mark in single-match program history.
The Mean Green (3-1) completed its fifth consecutive sweep (25-15, 25-18, 25-12) against Texas Southern (0-4) on Tuesday.
Treyaunna Rush led the team in kills for the third consecutive match with 12 on 18 attacks for a .444 hitting rate. She added three blocks.
Sh'Diamond Holly (.800) led five UNT players who finished with a hitting percentage above .500 in the match. She collected four kills on five attacks with four blocks and two digs.
Aleeyah Galdeira surpassed 1,400 career digs as she added 10 in the sweep. She also tallied three assists and two aces.
Setters Ceci Harness and Kamryn Scroggins distributed 24 and 16 assists, respectively. Harness posted three digs and an ace while Scroggins collected seven digs and a kill.

North Texas travels to San Marcos for the Texas State Invitational and opens against the Bobcats on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The match can be heard on KTSW 89.9. The Mean Green will also face No. 13 Houston on Friday at 4 p.m. at the three-team tournament.
