
Galdeira Rewrites Record Book as Volleyball Falls to No. 13 Houston

SAN MARCOS, Texas – Aleeyah Galdeira moved into third place on the UNT career digs list as volleyball fell 3-1 to No. 13 Houston on Friday at Strahan Arena.
Galdeira posted a match-best 15 digs on the night to add to her five-year total of 1,440 to move past recent UNT Athletics Hall of Fame inductee, Carnae Dillard. She also contributed a season-high mark with 10 assists for her first double-double of the season.
The Mean Green (3-3) fought its way back from a two-set deficit (20-25, 22-25, 25-22, 18-25) to take the third from the Cougars (4-0) but dropped its first match against a ranked opponent this season.
Coco Gillett (13) and Treyaunna Rush (12) led with 25 of the team's 56 kills on Friday as each recorded 13.5 points. Gillett added five digs, one block assist and an assist while Rush contributed three blocks and two digs.
Kamryn Scroggins distributed a team-high 19 assists and added nine digs. Ceci Harness deposited her second consecutive double-double with 18 assists and 14 digs.
Along with Gillett (.357), three North Texas players swung for a .350 hitting percentage or better in the match as Sh'Diamond Holly dropped eight kills on 14 attempts (.500) and Truli Levy contributed eight kills on 17 attacks for a .353 clip.
Holly led with four blocks while Levy and Rush posted three apiece.
