
Volleyball Defeats Texas Tech in Five

DENTON, Texas – UNT volleyball captured a 3-2 win over Texas Tech on Monday in front of 720 fans at the North Texas Volleyball Center. The mark was the third-highest attendance since the facility opened in 2006.
"Our fans are amazing," head coach Kristee Porter said. "We play extremely well here because of how great our home crowd is. I always like our chances in this building due to the atmosphere they create."
The Mean Green (4-3) secured the over the five-set win (17-25, 25-23, 25-23, 20-25, 15-10) over the Red Raiders (6-2) to mark its first win against a Big XII opponent since March 17, 2021.
"This is a great win for our team," Porter said. "We've been in sort of a slump for the last couple of matches. While we didn't play a complete match tonight, we did do enough to come away with a big five-set win."
Treyaunna Rush led North Texas with 16 kills for her seventh consecutive match with double-digit kills. She posted a .250 hitting percentage and a season high five blocks.
Aryn Johnson trailed close behind with 13 kills and added eight digs. Truli Levy recorded season-high marks of 11 kills, 30 attacks and five blocks.
Aleeyah Galderia tallied her second consecutive double-double with 19 digs and 10 assists. She also collected a career best 47 receptions with no errors. Her previous high was 36 receptions with no errors at LA Tech on October 23, 2022.
Ceci Harness set the pace of the offense with 28 assists and 13 digs for her third consecutive double-double and fourth of the season.
Kamryn Scroggins sealed the victory with an ace to close the fifth set. She posted 22 assists and eight digs along with a season-best mark of two service aces.
