ARLINGTON, Texas – UNT volleyball tallied 51 kills in a 3-0 sweep over Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday at the Arlington Athletics Center. The three-set kills mark is a season high for the Mean Green.
"It's nice to get a game in three [sets] and bounce back from the skid that we have been on," head coach Kristee Porter said. "I thought our middles did an exceptional job so we were just trying to feed them balls. Truli Levy and Sh'Diamond Holly did a great job and Treyaunna [Rush] stepped up and rebounded from a rough night last night."
North Texas (5-7) recorded a .311 attack percentage over three sets (25-20, 25-17, 25-11) and suppressed A&M-Commerce (4-9) to .079, the second-lowest mark for an opponent this season.
Treyaunna Rush led the team with 12 kills on 23 attacks, including seven finishes in the first set, to hit at a .391 clip.
Middle blocker Levy set a career-high mark with a .625 hitting percentage with 11 kills on 16 attempts. Holly finished at .700 with seven kills on 10 attacks and added five digs and two blocks.
Ceci Harness posted a double-double with 22 assists and 11 digs with two service aces.
