
Volleyball Records Three-Set Win over McNeese

ARLINGTON, Texas – Sh'Diamond Holly led with a season-high 12 kills as UNT volleyball collected a 3-0 victory over McNeese at the Arlington Athletics Center on Saturday.
"I was proud of the team today," head coach Kristee Porter said. "I thought we did a much better job of controlling the tempo of the match. Across the board, our offense was able to execute at a high level."
The Mean Green (5-7) tallied its second consecutive sweep (25-20, 25-19, 25-19) to close out its UTA Invitational. North Texas finished with a collective .370 hitting percentage and 10 blocks while it held the Cowgirls (2-10) to a mark of .194 in the match.
"We are a good team when we play together and lean on each other," Holly said. "We want to take this momentum and continue to build on it."
Holly recorded a career high .857 hitting percentage (12 kills on 14 attacks) and four service aces. She added two blocks and two digs.
Aryn Johnson and Anyse Smith each posted nine kills as Johnson grabbed seven in the third set including the final four points for the Mean Green. She also contributed four digs, two blocks and one dig.
Truli Levy matched her career high with six blocks, two solo, and added five kills on 10 attacks.
Setter Kam Scroggins led with 21 assists while Ceci Harness contributed 19 helpers.
