
Volleyball Opens American Schedule on Wednesday

DENTON, Texas – UNT volleyball hosts its first American Athletic Conference match against Florida Atlantic at 5 p.m. on Wednesday at the North Texas Volleyball Center. The match will be streamed on ESPN+.
The Mean Green (5-7) collected two sweeps at the UTA Invitational over Texas A&M-Commerce on Friday and McNeese on Saturday. Sh'Diamond Holly shined with a .658 hitting percentage over three matches in Arlington. She totaled 25 kills with zero errors on 38 attacks along with four aces, nine blocks and six digs in nine sets.
On Saturday, Holly recorded an .857 hitting percentage (12 kills, 14 attacks) versus McNeese, the third-best mark in UNT single-match history with a minimum of 12 attacks.
Aryn Johnson led North Texas with 26 kills while setters Ceci Harness (54) and Kamryn Scroggins (52) distributed 106 combined assists at the tournament. Holly and Truli Levy tallied nine blocks apiece and Aleeyah Galdeira posted 32 digs.
North Texas holds a 13-5 series lead over FAU with a 7-3 mark over its last 10 meetings, including a three-set sweep on the road last season.
