
Volleyball Falls to Tulsa

DENTON, Texas – UNT volleyball dropped its first American Athletic Conference match 3-1 to Tulsa on Thursday at the North Texas Volleyball Center.
The Mean Green (9-8, 3-1) led the Golden Hurricane (9-6, 2-2) in team kills, assists and digs over the four-set battle (25-22, 23-25, 19-25, 21-25) but were unable to put away its conference foe.
Opposite Treyaunna Rush matched her season-high mark with 17 kills and added three blocks. She posted 10 of her 17 kills over the first two sets.
Anyse Smith registered a season-best 13 kills on 23 attacks for a .348 hitting percentage. She led a group of three North Texas players, including Truli Levy (.800) and Sh'Diamond Holly (.462), that posted an average over .300 with 10 or more attacks.
Middle blockers Holly and Levy each paced the Mean Green with four blocks apiece.
Aleeyah Galdeira recorded a career-high three service aces and collected 22 digs. She pushed her career digs odometer past the 1,600 mark and moved closer to second place on the all-time UNT leaderboard.
Kamryn Scroggins led the team with 26 assists while Ceci Harness contributed 25 helpers. The pair of setters have both collected over 20 assists in five matches this season.
