ORLANDO, Fla. – UNT volleyball travels to the UCF Invitational on Friday against Florida State at 3 p.m. CT on Friday. The Mean Green face RV UCF at The Venue on Saturday at noon CT on ESPN+.
North Texas (4-4) dropped its first home match of the season on Wednesday in a five-set thriller to Stephen F. Austin.
Aryn Johnson paced the offense with 17 kills as Ceci Harness distributed 28 assists. Aleeyah Galdeira and Sh'Diamond Holly led the defense with 16 digs and five blocks, respectively.
The Mean Green played in front of its third-consecutive sellout crowd with 704 in attendance, fifth highest in North Texas Volleyball Center history.
UNT won its lone meeting against the Seminoles in a neutral-site match at the Missouri State Invitational on October 21, 1978, in Springfield, Missouri.
North Texas trails the all-time series versus the Knights with a pair of neutral-site losses in 1997 and 2008. The meeting marks the second former American Athletic Conference opponent of the season for the Mean Green after facing No. 13 Houston on Sept. 1.
