BOCA RATON, Florida — After a dramatic two-point win over SMU on Thursday, the UNT men's basketball team must quickly change its attention to Sunday as they travel to No. 22 Florida Atlantic.
The Mean Green (12-6, 5-1) and the Owls (16-4, 6-1) are scheduled to tip-off at Noon CT from the Abessinio Court at Eleanor R. Baldwin Arena. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2 and the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield.
FAU enters the game riding a five-game winning streak and a 7-1 record at home. The Owls are a year removed from making their historic Final Four run and return 14 of the 15 players from last season's team.
North Texas has won seven of its last eight games and is aiming to stay towards the top of the American Athletic Conference standings as four teams, including UNT, currently sit with a 5-1 or better league record.
A win Sunday at No. 22 FAU would be the Mean Green's first road victory over an AP Top 25 opponent since Feb. 27, 1971 when they won at No. 15 Louisville, 79-73.
Following Sunday's game at Florida Atlantic, North Texas returns home Wednesday to host UAB at the Super Pit. The game is scheduled to start at 8 p.m. CT and will be broadcast on ESPNU and the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield. UNT is riding a 17-game home winning streak, which is tied for the program record.
