Women's Golf Opens Play at Jim West Challenge

SAN MARCOS, Texas - The UNT women's golf team opened up play at the Jim West Challenge on Sunday and after 36 holes are in ninth place entering Monday's final round at Kissing Tree Golf Club.
The Mean Green shot a 292-291 and are at 7-over par and were led by Malisone Chanthapanya, who is 1-under after a 69-74 and tied for 19th. She was followed closely by teammate Mason Lewis, whose 74-70 put her at even-par going to the final round in a tie for 23rd.
The teams will tee off the final round on Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m., and UNT will be paired with New Mexico and Texas State.
