
Gillett Reaches Century Mark in Road Loss

NEW ORLEANS – Senior Coco Gillett collected her 1,000th collegiate career kill as UNT volleyball fell to Tulane 3-1 at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse on Sunday.
The Mean Green (8-13, 5-5) set season-best marks in kills (63), hitting percentage (.365), attacks (177), assists (57) and digs (79) in Sunday's four-set contest (26-28, 21-25, 26-24, 23-25) against the Green Wave (13-9, 5-5) to fall into a three-way tie for sixth place in the American Athletic Conference standings.
Gillett entered the match needing three kills to reach No. 1,000 and accomplished the feat in the first set. She finished with 13 kills and set her UNT career-high mark of 45 attacks with 12 digs and two blocks. Gillett joins fellow senior Aryn Johnson as the only active UNT players with over 1,000 collegiate career kills.
Johnson led the match with 20 kills, her second 20-plus kill match of the season and fourth of her career, on 51 attempts and added nine digs.
Setter Kamryn Scroggins claimed a match-best 32 assists for her third contest over 30 assists this season and fourth of her UNT career. She added 18 digs to mark her team-leading seventh double-double of the season.
The duo of Payton Van Veen (15.5) and Priscilla Jones (12.0) each tallied double-digit point totals while Ryann Vik accumulated a .600 hitting percentage with seven kills on 10 attacks.
Libero Paige Mooney led the match with 21 assists, a new career-high mark for the junior, while she recorded a perfect reception percentage on 28 attempts.
