BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – UNT volleyball travels to UAB and Memphis for a pair of American Athletic Conference road matches on Friday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at noon, respectively.
Both matches will be broadcast on ESPN+.
The Mean Green (8-13, 5-5) enter the weekend tied for sixth place in The American after losses to South Florida on Friday and Tulane on Sunday. Freshman Ryann Vik tallied 13 block assists against South Florida and became the first freshman in NCAA Division I volleyball with 13-plus block assists since Oct. 29, 2016, when Pepperdine's Jasmine Gross posted 14 versus Pacific.

UNT has won its past five matches versus UAB (8-13, 3-7), dating back to Oct. 15, 2021, including a three-set sweep at Bartow Arena on Oct. 6, 2023. Over three career matches versus the Blazers, senior Aryn Johnson has accumulated 29 kills, 19 digs and 31.0 points.
On Sunday, the Mean Green will travel to Memphis for its second meeting of the season against the Tigers but its first-ever visit to the Larry O. Finch Center. UNT fell 3-0 (24-26, 16-25, 21-25) when the Tigers visited Denton on Oct. 20.
Junior Payton Van Veen led the match with 13 points after she posted 10 kills, two aces and two block assists. She has tallied double-digit point totals in nine of 10 conference matches this season.
