DENTON, Texas – UNT's Tommisha Lampkin was named the American Athletic Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday.
Lampkin led the Mean Green to a pair of wins in the first week of the season, while posting double doubles in both games. The senior forward posted 23 points and 13 rebounds against Alcorn State and followed it up with 11 points and 12 rebounds in the victory over Texas Southern.
The Preseason AAC Player of the Year continues to move up the program's all-time list in multiple statistical categories. Lampkin passed Clara Campbell against Texas Southern to move into ninth place with 636 career rebounds and took over sole possession of eighth place with 19 double doubles.
