DENTON - The UNT swimming and diving teams will host a conference foe on Friday, as the Rice Owls come to town for the Mean Green's first home event of the year.
UNT will host AAC foe Rice with a start time set for 4 p.m., with the swimming events taking place at the Pohl Recreation Center and the 1-meter and 3-meter springboard diving events at the PEB Natatorium.
For the swimmers, Friday will mark the first true competitive setting since the season-opening meets at New Mexico and New Mexico State at the beginning of October, while the divers had the Houston Diving Invite back on October 11-12.
"It's exciting to host our first home meet of the season and to compete with a really strong program in Rice," UNT head coach Brittany Roth said. "Our athletes have been making strides since our last outing, and I'm excited to see them compete this week and build upon their strengths."
Fans are encouraged to attend and take part in some fun events, such as a rubber ducky race after the second break in swimming and a big splash contest after both diving events are completed. Fans interested in competing in the big splash contest at the PEB Natatorium can sign up here.
