DENTON, Texas – The UNT softball program and head coach Rodney DeLong announced the 2025 schedule on Tuesday. The Mean Green will host 19 games at Lovelace Stadium including its home opener on Feb. 18 versus Texas Tech and a midweek clash with Oklahoma State on March 5.
All home games will be streamed on ESPN+ with tickets available HERE.
North Texas will face seven teams that earned NCAA Tournament bids last season including road meetings at Mississippi State on Feb. 14, at Baylor on Feb. 28 and at Texas A&M on March 26. The Mean Green will finish its non-conference slate at Texas Tech on April 22 and at Oklahoma State on April 30.
The 2025 campaign begins with a doubleheader at the Trojan Invitational on Feb. 7 against Central Michigan at 9 a.m. before meeting Tennessee State at 11:30 a.m. from the Troy Softball Complex in Troy, Ala.
Including the Trojan Invitational, UNT will compete in four pre-conference tournaments with trips to Mississippi State on Feb. 14-16, UT Arlington on Feb. 20-22 and Baylor on Feb. 28-March 2.
The Mean Green begin American Athletic Conference play with a three-game set against conference tournament champions Charlotte at Lovelace Stadium on March 7-9.
After the 49ers, AAC rivals Memphis (March 21-23), UTSA (April 4-6), UAB (April 17-19) and South Florida (April 25-27) each visit Denton for conference series at Lovelace Stadium.
UNT wraps up the regular season at East Carolina on May 2-4 ahead of the AAC Championship which begins on May 7 at USF Softball Stadium in Tampa, Fla.
Equipped with a roster that includes five former all-conference selections including seniors Skylar Savage and Cierra Simon, North Texas looks to extend its streak of 30-win seasons to five years, each under DeLong.
Last season, the Mean Green posted a 32-24 record with a 17-10 mark in its first season as a member of The American. UNT reached the conference tournament semifinals before it fell to eventual champions, Charlotte, in a hard-fought loss.
Fans can purchase single-game tickets and Olympic Sports Passes through the UNT ticket office. All home games, except for Texas Tech on Feb. 18 and Oklahoma State on March 5, are on sale now.
