UNT Hosts UAB In Conference Opener Tuesday

Tip-off is scheduled for 3 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield and on ESPNU.
In honor of the New Year, Mean Green fans can purchase a ticket to each of UNT's first two conference games for a total of $20.25.
North Texas (9-3) enters Tuesday having won four straight conference openers dating back to 2020 in Conference USA. UNT began last season with four straight conference wins before getting thrashed by a variety of injuries. The Mean Green head into this season's conference opener on a three-game winning streak and a 7-0 record at home.
UAB (7-6), who won the 2024 AAC Tournament championship and earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament, returns Yaxel Lendeborg who was the conference tournament's MVP and is the reigning AAC Defensive Player of the Year and Preseason Player of the Year. He enters Tuesday's contest averaging 16.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game, all of which lead his team. His rebounding average leads all AAC players.
Following Tuesday's game, the Mean Green will travel to Memphis to face the Tigers (10-3) on Jan. 5. Memphis has three top-25 wins so far this season, including over back-to-back reigning national champion UConn.
