Women's Golf Stays in Third After Strong Finish

NEW PROVIDENCE, The Bahamas - The UNT women's golf team had some struggles on the front-nine during Tuesday's second round at the Nexus Collegiate but closed on a tear over the back-nine at Albany Golf Club to enter Wednesday's final round still in third place in a field full of ranked teams.
The Mean Green shot a 7-over 295, as the team combined for 11 birdies over the final nine holes, and sit at 10-over after two rounds, four shots back of second-place Iowa State and seven back of leader Kentucky.
Senior Ellie Roth led the way on Tuesday with a 1-under 71, thanks to a 4-under showing on the back-nine, and she is tied for third individually at 1-under par going to Wednesday's final round. Freshman Bouquet Subsomboon started the day with back-to-back double-bogeys before shooting 3-under over the final 16 holes to finish the day with a 1-over 73 to put her in a tie for 20th at 5-over par. Senior Emilie Ricaud is tied for 10th at 2-over after shooting a 3-over 75 on Tuesday.
All 11 teams in the field are ranked inside the SCOREBOARD Top 100, and nine of the 11 teams are inside the top-60, including No. 46 UNT.
The tournament will wrap up on Wednesday morning with a shotgun start at 7 a.m. UNT will start from Hole 1 and will be paired with Kentucky, Iowa State and Tulsa.
