BIRMINGHAM, Alabama — Coming off a 76-66 home win over Memphis, the UNT men's basketball team is on the road to face UAB Sunday from Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Alabama where they've won four straight games.
The Mean Green (14-10, 7-5) and Blazers (16-8, 8-3) are scheduled to tip-off at 2 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on ESPN+ and the Mean Green Sports Network, presented by Learfield.
North Texas defeated the Tigers on Thursday behind one of the best offensive performances of the season as the Mean Green knocked down a season-high 16 3-pointers on a season-high 57 percent clip. UNT, despite being without starting guards Rubin Jones and CJ Noland due to injuries, dished out a season-high 16 assists in the 10-point win.
Sophomore guard Jason Edwards scored a game-high 30 points as he was 7-9 from deep. It was his fourth 30-point game of the year and the second game where he made seven or more 3-pointers.
Junior John Buggs III scored 12 points versus Memphis and was 4-5 from deep. Buggs and Rondel Walker each had career highs in assists with four and five, respectively.
After Sunday the Mean Green have nearly a week off as they don't host UTSA until Saturday afternoon at the Super Pit for the third to final home game of the year.
