Men's Hoops Ends Regular Season With Road Win

The Mean Green (17-13, 10-8) trailed the Owls (11-20, 5-13) by five at halftime but held the explosive offense to just 6-of-27 (22.2 percent) shooting in the second half and just 1-of-12 (8.3 percent) shooting from deep in the final 20 minutes.
"I'm really proud of how we defended in the second half and shared the ball," said North Texas head coach Ross Hodge. "We have a lot of respect for coach Pera and Rice so to close out the game like that was huge."
Prior to Saturday, North Texas had already locked up the seven-seed to the 2024 American Athletic Conference Championship next week. But will head into the single-elimination tournament on a high note. They face a to be determined 10-seed on Thursday at 6 p.m. CT from Dickies Arena in Fort Worth.

Saturday the Mean Green were led in scoring by Jason Edwards who poured in 21 points. It's his 12th 20-point game of the year. Aaron Scott, Rubin Jones and CJ Noland also scored in double figures as they combined for 39 of their team's 71 points against the Owls. Saturday was UNT's fourth straight win at Tudor Fieldhouse.
