Women's Golf Advances to Semis at The Match Play

NORMAN, Okla. - The UNT women's golf team advanced to the semifinals of The Match Play at Jimmie Austin OU Golf Club after earning the 3-seed in the event after its third-place finish in Monday morning's stroke play portion of the event.
The Mean Green drew the sixth-seeded Tulane team and scored a 3-1-1 win, thanks to victories from Ellie Roth (2 and 1), Bouquet Subsomboon (3 and 2) and Emilie Ricaud (3 and 2). Mason Lewis took her match to extra holes after being tied through 18. All four of the top seeds won their quarterfinal matches.
No. 47 UNT will now face the 2-seed from Tulsa, who defeated Houston on Monday, in Tuesday morning's semifinal, which is set to begin at 8 a.m.
Earlier Monday, UNT finished third in the 18-hole stroke play round with a 4-over showing, two shots back of second-place Tulsa and 10 shots back of host Oklahoma. UNT cleared 4-seed Texas Tech by five shots. The Mean Green were led in the stroke play round by Shreya Pal, who tied for third at 1-under par, and Roth tied for eighth at even-par.
