Men's Basketball Finalizes Series With Oregon State

DENTON — The UNT men's basketball team has finalized a home-and-home series with Oregon State starting Nov. 25 in Denton.
The Mean Green will make a return trip to OSU during the 2025-26 season at a date to be determined later.
This upcoming season's game at the Super Pit will be the first ever meeting between North Texas and the Beavers. The 2025 game in Corvallis, Oregon, will be UNT's first trip to the Beaver State since 2013 when they played in Coaches vs. Cancer Tournament in Portland.
In 2021 when North Texas upset Purdue in the first round of the NCAA Tournament for the program's first-ever NCAA Tournament victory, Oregon State reached the Elite Eight for the first time since 1982. Oregon State then and still is led by head coach Wayne Tinkle.
UNT is entering its second season under head coach Ross Hodge. The Mean Green won 19 games last season and had victories over LSU, Memphis and SMU. They reached the second round of the National Invitation Tournament and are one of just seven teams in the country who have won a NCAA national postseason tournament game in each of the last four years.
Hodge was named a finalist for the 2024 Joe B. Hall National Coach of the Year Award. He was the only rookie, first-year NCAA head coach to lead his team to either the NCAA Tournament, NIT or CBI Tournament.
