Aryn Johnson Named Preseason All-AAC

UNT volleyball voted to finish sixth in preseason coaches’ poll
DENTON, Texas – Senior outside hitter Aryn Johnson represented UNT volleyball as a member of the 2024 Preseason All-American Athletic Conference team, the league announced on Monday.
The selection marks the second-consecutive Preseason All-AAC honor for Johnson as she was named to the team in 2023.
Last season, Johnson ranked second for the Mean Green with 294 kills, 811 attacks, 339.5 points and 25 service aces. She enters the 2024 season seven matches played shy of 100 for her collegiate career and 22 kills short of 1,000.
Johnson becomes the third player in program history to be named to consecutive preseason all-conference teams, joining Rhett Robinson (2020-21, 2021) and Carnae Dillard (2013-15) who both accomplished the feat in Conference USA.
UNT was picked to finish sixth in The American preseason coaches' poll after the Mean Green posted a 17-16 (11-8) record for a seventh-place league finish last season.
The Mean Green open the 2024 season at the UNT Invitational on Friday at 7 p.m. versus Colorado inside The Super Pit.
Friday's opening day matches mark the first NCAA-sanctioned volleyball matches at the venue in UNT history. The Mean Green last appeared at the Super Pit on Sept. 15, 1979, in a match as a member of the Association for Intercollegiate Athletics for Women (AIAW) against Texas A&M.
