Volleyball Set for Sunshine Invitational

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – UNT volleyball face its final non-conference opponents of the season at the Sunshine Invitational beginning with No. 16 Florida on Friday at 6 p.m. CT from Exactech Arena at Stephen C. O'Connell Center on SEC Network Plus.
The Mean Green will finish the weekend against Buffalo at 4 p.m. CT on Saturday.
"This preseason has definitely been a challenge for us," head coach Kristee Porter said. "But a welcomed challenge [because] I think we are growing a lot … and I think our team is learning resilience."
UNT (2-7) will play both the Gators (7-2) and the Bulls (4-7) for the first time in program history this weekend. The last road win over an SEC opponent for the Mean Green was a three-set sweep (25-19, 25-13, 25-19) at Mississippi State on Sept. 15, 2017.
Buffalo marks the first and only opponent of the season that won, at least a share, of its respective league's championship in 2023. Last year, the Bulls were crowned MAC East Division Co-Champions in the regular season. Both UNT and Buffalo earned invitations to the 2023 NIVC.
