SAN ANTONIO – UNT volleyball begins its second season as a member of the American Athletic Conference against UTSA on Friday at 6 p.m. on ESPN+ from the Convocation Center. Friday's match marks the 40th meeting between the two programs, the third-most common opponent in UNT history.

UNT completed non-conference action with a 3-0 loss (22-25, 13-25, 18-25) to No. 16 Florida on Friday before it claimed a 3-0 victory (25-14, 25-21, 25-9) over Buffalo on Saturday.
Saturday's win over the Bulls featured the second match of the season in which UNT held its opponent to a negative hitting percentage (-.010, 23-24-96) and the second match in which it recorded double-digit team blocks.
On Monday, junior Payton Van Veen was named to the weekly AAC Honor Roll after she led the Mean Green with 15 kills, four aces and 22.0 points at the Sunshine Invitational. For the season, she ranks second on the team in total blocks and aces while she rates third in kills and points.
