
Volleyball Sweeps Hampton

WASHINGTON, D.C. – UNT volleyball collected a wire-to-wire 3-0 victory over Hampton at McDonough Arena on Saturday.
The Mean Green (2-4) held the Pirates (0-5) to a negative hitting percentage, -.086, in the sweep (25-11, 25-11, 25-9) and finished 42-for-70 for a season-high mark of .514 for the match. UNT's hitting percentage rate marks the sixth time in program history above. 500 and ranks fifth all-time.
Saturday marks the second match of the Kristee Porter era in which an opponent has been held to a negative hitting percentage and first since Sept. 6, 2022, against Texas Southern.
UNT did not allow Hampton to gain a lead in the match and limited the Pirates to a tie score only three times in the match, each early in the first set.
Senior Coco Gillett led the Mean Green with 11 kills and 16.0 points including her UNT single-match best mark of four service aces.
Both Truli Levy and Aryn Johnson dropped nine kills while Payton Van Veen tallied eight.
Levy moved into eight place on the UNT career block assists list as she matched her season-high mark of six.
Redshirt sophomore Loredana Fouonji made her UNT debut with an appearance in the second set.
